Our courses are designed for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS and BEGINNERS who would like to start dancing Cuban Salsa or Bachata, by the end of the course you will feel confident to dance a whole song with a partner! After course completion you will have the option to continue on to the next level and develop your skills even further and multiply the fun!
Havana People are UNIQUE in Wales – being the ONLY Latin dance school to run progressive courses in Salsa and Bachata, and to provide a teacher for both sides of the couple (Leader and follower – Mariano and Rhi) for demonstration and tips.
Our course plan develops our students on many different levels during their learning process (from footwork, leading & following skills, body movement and styling) – meaning that students are constantly challenged and become better dancers, more quickly!
Rhi and Mariano from Havana People Salsa are experienced performers and teachers based in Cardiff who’s main passion is to pass on as much information to their students as possible, and to provide a fun experience while learning.

What You Will Learn...
During the 6 week Salsa and Bachata course you will learn the fundamental steps of salsa and how to understand and dance to salsa and bachata music, as well as how to dance with a partner (leading and following) and basic arms styling.
Each week you will build on the steps you learnt before and continue to learn more!
At the end of the course you will feel confident to join the other students on the dance floor and show off those new moves at the Latin dance parties when restrictions are fully lifted!

Salsa was originally born on the streets and clubs of Cuba, it was developed from a range of styles that was danced by “regular” people (not professional dancers), that is why Salsa and the Latin social dances are for everyone. These moves were then cultivated and developed to higher levels.
Salsa’s exciting and high energy movements are part of the reason it is so popular today. Eventually the salsa craze spread across America and the rest of the world.
Today you can watch and join Latin dance festivals with parties, workshops, performances, famous dancers and more parties!

Mariano and Rhi are unique in Cardiff as they are the ONLY teachers who have a permanent dance partner, they perform, train and teach together!
That also means that they are the only dance teachers who are able to teach and demonstrate both the leader and follower to make your learning experience easier and clearer.
Mariano and Rhi love to share their passion for dance and are very generous teachers, we believe that no one is BORN to dance, but actually that dancers are MADE. They want to help you achieve you dancing goals!
